Overbey, Hawkins, Wright & Vance, PLLC has a rich and proud history dating back to 1930 when R.I. Overbey began practicing law in Rustburg and 1931 when W. Hutchings “Hutch” Overbey, Sr. joined him.
“Hutch” Overbey was Judge of the Campbell County Court for many years during a time when judges also practiced law. The firm was well-known as Overbey & Overbey. Later joined by his son, W. Hutchings “Buzzy” Overbey, Jr., the firm was recognized as one of the prominent law firms in the greater Lynchburg, VA area as our attorneys fought zealously for our clients.
After David Hawkins joined the firm in 1972 and later became partner, the firm became known as Overbey, Overbey & Hawkins. W. Hutchings Overbey, Sr. retired from the Circuit Court bench for Campbell County and Bryan Selz joined the firm. Samuel F. Vance, IV joined the firm as a partner in 2011. The firm is presently known as Overbey, Hawkins, Wright & Vance, PLLC.
